《波西米亞狂想曲》最初版本收錄在專輯《A Night at the Opera》（1975年）中。本曲在西方社會相當為人熟知，因此常通俗地被稱為“Bo Rhap”（或者“Bo Rap”）。
然而在其單曲化推出後，卻得到了不尋常的巨大成功。本曲在英國單曲榜連續九周冠軍，並在英國國內銷售超過200萬張，創下當時英國史上銷售最高單曲紀錄。(現在為史上第三，僅次於《Do They Know It's Christmas? 》以及《Candle in the Wind 1997》)。本曲今日常被視為皇後樂隊最偉大的作品之壹。
